    {Lindsey} Tumwater High School Cheerleader

Meet my niece Lindsey. She is almost 16 years old. She is now a Tumwater High School cheerleader. She is a girl after my own heart. I can hardly believe that she is already in high school doing what I did at her age. In fact I was a cheerleader at WSU when she was born. I'm so proud of her and I had to capture her in her first parade uniform...

{My Niece} They grow up too fast

While perusing the Internet tonight, I came across my older sister Lynnette updating her Facebook with recent pictures of her daughter going to the high school Tolo dance. OMG! What? That is not my super sweet little niece, Lindsey? Is it? Well, as you can see...she is not so little anymore. And as you might tell, she is definitely taller than me now. But what struck me most...was that she is such a beautiful young woman. Not that I haven't always thought that. But she really just appeared like a beautiful woman, and not so much a litte girl. Sorry sis! You are not going to want to hear this, and it's exactly what caused me to gasp. Where does the time go? How does time escape us so fast? How do cute little girls turn in to beautiful women, at the blink of our eyes? This will be Brooklyn before I know it! That is why I blog, take a zillion photos, and video. I don't want to forget and always want to remember today.

Can you believe this little bundle grew up to be such a cutie? Yes, that is a very younger version of me on the left with Lindsey. She was the first grandchild to my parents, and the first little one to make me an auntie. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

{My Nieces} The future of photography

There are so many amazing emerging photographers. And my nieces are amongst the bunch. I sold my first DSLR to my sister, and my niece quickly adopted it as her own. How awesome to begin taking photographs at such a young age.

    {Captured} Lindsey

So my niece Lindsey has been staying with us for the past three weeks (she lives in Olympia, WA...my hometown). She is 14 years old and will be starting high school this year. She is your typical teenager...doesn't know how to make her bed, asks for something when it's directly in front of her, and sleeps a LOT (maybe more than our baby girl). But I'm use to all that from 10+ years of teaching high school. I love her all the same and she is really incredible with Brooklyn. She was originally coming down to help me with Brooklyn while I get photo work down. But as it turned out, my husband has been unemployed for the past month too. Instead it's been a fun few weeks of all hanging out together, watching movies, going to the beach, on the boat, to Seaworld, shopping, and just enjoying summer! It's been fun having her around and we'll miss her. But I'm thinking Brooklyn will miss her the most! They are buddies now! I couldn't send her home without doing a photo session or her mom might have killed me. HeeHee. Here just a few of the fun shots we got together (read my Twitter updates for the chaos that ensued to get these shots)...
