I got to meet Christina & Jeff in my home studio this week to capture them with her cute belly! I really love & admire pregnant woman. Which is always interesting since I never enjoyed myself being pregnant. They are expecting a little boy and I asked them if they had a name in mind yet. Christina said "no" and Jeff said "Danger". I thought that was pretty cute and funny. So the little guy will affectionately be referred to as "Danger" now. Thanks for inviting me to capture this moment in your lives! You'll be so happy that you have these images together. to show Danger one day.
Thank you to Facebook & Amanda J. for the referral!
We captured some really beautiful and more intimate poses that I will be posting over on my other blog.

{Maines Family} Temecula, CA Family Photographer
No better time than the upcoming arrival of a new baby to capture some family photos. The Maines are especially motivated, considering Mark is leaving soon for a chaplain assignment with the Navy. They only have four more weeks before their little girl will arrive!

{Captured} Cora Expecting
{Captured} Volkoff's Expecting
Eeek...I'm a whole week behind on blogging. That woud be because I'm back to teaching and packing to move homes. Not the best timing and planning on my part. But that is kinda how life is.
So, last Friday, Cora and I made a date to capture her last trimester and month of being pregnant. She is just shy of 3 weeks from her due date and we can hardly wait to meet little LuLu! I have to say that I feel very priveliged to have been a part of it all and capturing every moment on camera. You might even recognize the red boots from their wedding day! I really wanted to find a big hilly countryside for our session, but who am I kidding? I live in South LA County. Instead I found an abandoned lot in Laguna. I actually think it made for some great pics. I might add that Cora is the best preggers ever. I'm so happy that she has had a great pregnancy with very little complaining (seriously!). I hope Aaron realizes how lucky he is! I'm even a little jealous.
The big surprise of our session was that Aaron even agreed to be a part of it! We've joked for years that he will have no part in prego pictures. Well, I'm thinking the new pops is softening a bit in aticipation of his little girl!

Experimenting
There are many photographers that I admire and I follow/stalk their blogs on a daily basis. HeeHee. I struggle with defining my own style and wanting to be like them because they are so flippin' cool. At the same time, I am so new to the photography world that I am still learning and growing myself. So anyways I wanted to try some new things tonight. Combing patterns with photos and the use of texture overlays. The following two photos are a result of my experimenting. I will forever be my own worst critic and you are welcome to love them or hate them. Just be a part of my process....learning!
{Captured} Christy + Marcel Expecting
I met up with Christy & Marcel tonight at Corona del Mar to capture their baby bump. Christy is expecting their first baby (a boy!) on September 29th. I'm so happy that she has had such a great pregnancy (that always makes me happy since I did not enjoy mine). I remember how exhausting it was to make any physical effort without breathing hard and losing my breath. She cruised up and down the hill to the beach and the beach itself without a complaint nor a heavy breath. So excited all that is in store for you both! Hang on for the best ride of your life.

{Captured} Cora Expecting
For all the work that my dear friend Cora has done for me (blog design, logo, and my all around go to girl for graphic design), it is so nice to return the favor and share my photography with her. She is 28 weeks pregnant now and is in her third trimester. It's officially the home stretch and the final countdown has begun. She is due only one day before Brooklyn's 1st birthday. It's so fun to think about this time last year I was exactly 28 weeks pregnant too. It's also been fun for her to think in one year her little girl will be Brooklyn's current age. This session was particularly fun because we did at her new home with all natural light. I think the images reflect her style and personality. Here's a sneak peak. Your comments are always welcome...

{Captured} Reanna Expecting
Twice in one weekend, I got to shoot two former students! Reanna is also a former student and cheerleader of mine. It makes me feel old that she is married and expecting her first child, a little girl! She has always been amazing with working with children so I'm not surprised that she has a little one on it's way. I'm so excited for her and Patrick though! She could not be more adorable 32 weeks pregnant. Thank you for letting me be a part of this new journey of yours! As a new mom myself, it really makes me think and reflect on this special time. Congrats R&P...I can't wait to meet your new little bundle.

Baby makes Four
Kaiden is going to be a big brother! His little sister is scheduled to arrive just in time for Christmas. I can't think of a better gift for the holidays...a little girl! We explored Shoreline Village to capture some family portraits in time for their Christmas cards.

22 weeks pregnant
My good friend Kristi took some shots of me yesterday at the beach. These are just a few of my favorites, straight out of the camera. I can't wait for her to work her "editing" magic and make me beautiful. I must say that I much prefer being on the other side of the camera!!! Kristi is now up and running her own photography biz, Krashing Motions. I'm looking forward to shooting some weddings together this summer.
